Digital Product Passport information on public ledgers
Simple Chic has published its Digital Product Passport (DPP) to securely and transparently share each product's provenance story, sustainability disclosures and our impacts towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Our DPP is published on a sustainable public ledger (blockchain), which allows users to trace sustainability disclosures. Public ledgers offer several advantages, including:
- Transparency. DPP data transactions are publicly available and inspectable
- Security. DPP data is cryptographically registered and secure on a blockchain
- Immutability. DPP data on a blockchain cannot be altered
- Traceability. DPP data provenance can be traced
- Redundancy. DPP data is replicated and stored on multiple distributed ledgers, mitigating any network failure
- Persistency. DPP data persists on-chain regardless of vendor status
